Joeiji Temple Sesshu Garden
Joeiji was built about 500 years ago by Ouchi Masahiro as a villa. Its garden is said to have been made by the ink painter Sesshu at his request, and is loved as the "Sesshu Garden". Stones arranged to evoke Mt. Fuji and the mountains of China are superb; it is a representative Zen garden and a national Historic Site and Place of Scenic Beauty. Sutra copying and zazen sessions are offered.
