Cape Toi

A cape at the southern end of Nichinan Kaigan Quasi-National Park. From the white Toimisaki Lighthouse, the only lighthouse in Kyushu whose interior can be visited, you look over green hills and the Hyuga Sea. The area is home to "Misaki-uma", a native Japanese horse breed first put out to graze by the Takanabe domain in the Edo period and designated a national natural monument; all 550 ha of the cape are their home, and many foals are born from April to May.
